Opportunities for Service:
These are the organizations that our members are involved with
throughout the year. We would love to have you join us! Please sign up at the August Luncheon!
Memphis Family Shelter
- This shelter is located in downtown Memphis for homeless women and their children. They work with these families to prepare
them for independent living by providing classes in parenting, budgeting, work skills, etc. Each month at our luncheon we
collect non-perishable food and household supplies and these donations are then delivered to the shelter. Contact Kathleen

Page Robbins Center - This facility, located just off Houston Levee and Wolf
River Blvd. provides day car for individuals with memory loss due to stroke, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's, dementia, etc.
Our members spend a couple of hours each month celebrating birthdays & visiting with individuals at the center. More volunteers
are always needed! Contact Polly Horwood - horwood@earthlink.net
Collierville Literacy Council This center, located
just off the Square in downtown Collierville, helps adults with basic reading skills, English as a Learned Language, and preparing
for the Graduate Equivalency Exam. Volunteers attend a 10 hour training session which then allows them to be literacy tutors
anywhere in the U.S. Tutors meet one on one with individuals, helping them to learn communication skills at a time and place
that are mutually agreed upon. No foreign language knowledge is needed for tutors who volunteer for English language duty.

Enchanted Forest Festival of Trees The Enchanted Forest has been
a Memphis tradion for nearly 50 years. There are dozens of beautiful trees sponsored & decorated by area businesses, churches
and other volunteers, including New Neighbors. Proceeds from the Enchanted Forest support Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center.
Marsha Harris heads up our committee for this event, coordinating ideas and volunteers to decorate a themed tree each year.
